I knew a rocket was launching today but didn’t know the exact time.
After feeling sheer frustration and wanting to scream and cry, I decided to head to the beach to ground my feet in the sand, tap on the sides of my fingertips, breathe in deeply, and let my tears out.
If I posted a link for my website or book order page on Facebook, and a friend clicked on that link and then clicked on the button to order my book– a flat-rate shipping and handling charge of $28 came up. Which is more money than the cost of my book and incorrect if you live in the United States. So it makes one’s eyes widen, mouth drop open, head wonder WTF, and then possibly abandon the shopping cart. (Which is where my tears came in after receiving a few messages from friends inquiring about it.)
After pivoting my book distribution plan more than once because of the Coronavirus pandemic I ultimately decided to sell my book on my website (instead of Amazon). Then after figuring out all the right words to say and which images to use on the book page on my website, ordering 1200 bubble mailers, and spending time moving stuff around and out of my garage (mind you Goodwill is closed…) in preparation for over 50 boxes of books to arrive— this little glitch tipped me over.
While I was 1000% confident my website lady and her team would whip out their magical website wands and figure it out, I was just plain old tired.
And frustrated.
(Not at her — I was frustrated at yet another bump in the road. Effen COVID damndemic!)
That’s exactly why I headed across the street to the beach. And serendipitously, I arrived at the perfect time to see the rocket launch.
The tiny white speck in the sky just below the center of the image is the rocket. It launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida and I watched it about 22 miles south on Melbourne Beach.
I decided to take the rocket launch as an awesome sign about my book launch right after I finished crying and tapping the stress out of my body while at the beach.
Now you know what a rocket, the beach, and crying have to do with my book. Oh my!
By the way, my web lady already fixed my website!

Julie, I agree the rocket is the sign. Remember to go with the flow and it WILL HAPPEN!
Yes, it's an awesome sign! Sometimes I get in my way, then go to the beach to get out of my way, and then I am back in the flow. And you're so right -- It will happen!
I love the sign that your book is launching in the perfect way. Sorry for the bump in the road & another damn opportunity for growth
Thank you, Wendy! It was a big awesome sign, huh?! Lol. I laughed at your "another damn opportunity for growth"... I know where you got that! I heard it's in that book "On the Other Side".
All shall be well. And all is well. And all is well.
Thank you, Mary! I felt so much better after the beach and letting all my stress out. And then my website shopping cart got fixed. Yes! All is well.
My dearest daughter,
I can see you there, on the beach, with arms outstretched as a heavenly breeze encircles you and gently opens the palms of your hands and loosens your fingers that were tightly grasping the pieces of those ever-changing directions. There is a wonderful Peace that comes with Letting go and Knowing you are never alone and “All is Well.”
Thank you, Mom! Yes, letting go was healing -- and is every single time I do it. And then the great reminder of "all is well" brings clarity.
Now we have an omen about your book launch. Sales will soar like the lovely rocket! To the moon Julie's book!
Thank you for that beautiful intention, Mary!
There is not a better place to cry than the Beach! As I say to Kara, "whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger". You got this Julie Jacky! Rocket launch and all.
Thank you, Nancy! The beach is the best place to cry! It magically helps me be with my pain and then takes it away on a wave, just like that!
