EFT/Tapping

Getting Straight to the Point (Tapping Point that is)

The EFT points we tap on are energy meridians and are the same meridians that are used in acupuncture. (Don’t worry, no needles involved with Tapping). You’ll want to pick whichever hand is more comfortable for you to use for tapping– you only need one.

You’ll start tapping with four fingers on top of your head, towards the back of your head. If you were looking in a mirror you would see your hand moving on the top of your head, not on the back side of your head. If you’re tapping on the front of your head, then you’re missing the point. {badum bum}.

The tapping points move down the body, and the next three points in the sequence are around the eye. You’ll want to tap hard enough that you can lightly feel the pressure, but not hard enough to bruise or hurt yourself. Be gentle around you eyes – I promise you, there is no need to poke your eye out.

You can use two fingers to tap all the meridian points on your face.

The eyebrow point is on the inside of the eye, just above your nose. You’ll tap on the side of your nose where your eyebrow begins.

Next, move to the side of your eye – outside on the bone where you feel the corner of your eye come together.

The last eye point is on the bone under the eye.

Then move under your nose followed by tapping on the crease in your chin.

The remaining two points in the sequence you’ll want to use four fingers when you’re tapping. The collarbone point is about an inch down and an inch over to either side of where you’d knot a tie, and the underarm point is on the side of your body about 4” (four inches) down from the armpit.

Now that you know where to tap here is what you’ll want to pay attention to while you’re tapping.

When you start tapping on the top of your head you’ll want to focus on a specific bothersome memory, pain or belief.

It helps to close your eyes so you can notice where in your body you feel a sensation, emotion or pain and pay attention to the intensity of it.

Gently tap each point 5-7 times while focusing on the sensation. But please note, it’s way more important to pay attention to the sensation in your body than it is to count how many times you tap, so don’t get hung up on the numbers.

Repeat each of the points for second round of tapping before you re-evaluate the intensity of the sensation or emotion.

Keep tapping until you feel relief. If you want more tips on how to get the best results when you’re tapping, then be sure to click to pick up my Top 10 Tapping Tips.
