Yes, this is a thing, and I’m kinda geeking out about it. Why would you need one?
A beauty fridge extends the shelf life of your products by inhibiting harmful bacteria growth and also helps preserve their freshness for longer. Additionally, storing products in cooler temperatures can have skin-calming and puffiness-reducing benefits, making it a smart choice for your morning routine! Plus, saves you money!
Wondering which products you should and shouldn’t refrigerate?
Look at the product ingredients. If there are water, aloe, or extracts they need preservatives and therefore would last longer in the fridge.
Balms that are lipid/oil-based only need antioxidants like vitamin E to prevent them from getting rancid and are fine without refrigeration.
Oils should not be refrigerated because the cold air can cause the oil and water within the makeup to separate, which makes it stop working properly essentially making them useless. (Store oils at room temp.)
Here are some items to keep in a fridge:
Btw, Lemongrass Spa Products are good without refrigeration for 6 months to a year, but if you refrigerate them, they can last longer. (Which is great on the budget, too!) On top of that, the coolness of a refrigerated eye gel or crème on tired, puffy eyes feels soooo good! Or, a chilled facial mist on a hot summer day can be totally refreshing. Especially our watermelon cucumber tonic! Oh my!
