First, let’s state what EFT is.
EFT – Emotional Freedom Techniques, (often known as Tapping or EFT Tapping), is a universal healing tool that can provide impressive results for physical, emotional, and performance issues.
EFT operates on the premise that no matter what part of your life needs improvement, there are unresolved emotional issues in the way. Even for physical issues, chronic pain, or diagnosed conditions, it is common knowledge that any kind of emotional stress can impede the natural healing potential of the human body.
The more unresolved emotional issues you can clear, the more peace and emotional freedom you will have in your life to fully experience love and joy.
“I don’t want to tap on the negative” is one of the most frequent things I hear people say to me when they are first learning about the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)/Tapping. They tell me they are a positive person and want to focus on the positive – not the negative. And then they mention the Law of Attraction and are afraid they will welcome negativity into their life.
I always say “Tap on the Crap™ first.
Because when you put on a mask and pretend you are happy when you are really angry you can’t truly experience happiness. In order to truly experience happiness, you must first acknowledge and release the anger so you can clear that out to get to the good feeling place. The Law of Attraction focuses on the EMOTION that is most prevalent and attracts more of it. So when you are feeling angry, but pretend you are happy, you actually attract more things in your life to make you angry.
BUT When you acknowledge and release the anger, you can then get to happiness. REAL happiness. Your body will automatically take you there. Your body takes you to the good feeling place when you acknowledge and clear out the not so good feelings and emotions.
Let’s put it another way…
You’ve heard the saying “Swept under the rug”, right?
Referring to the cleaning process where one sweeps the dirt under the rug instead of picking it up and putting it in the trash. At first glance, the floor looks clean, but when you move the rug you find the dirt was actually hidden. The floor isn’t truly clean. You can pretend the dirt isn’t there, but deep inside you KNOW there is dirt under the rug – and it bothers you. In order for the room to be truly clean, you must sweep the dirt out from under the rug.
When we use the EFT process we want to find the hidden dirt under the rug. EFT wants to find the hidden emotion that is stuck in your body so you can free it. In order to clear out the stuck emotion, you must first “tap on the crap” so you are able to naturally move to the good feeling place and actually FEEL the good feeling.
To Tap on the Crap™ you must admit the “negative” thoughts that are going on in your mind, feel the feelings in your body and acknowledge the emotions.
So – what kind of crap have you been sweeping under the rug? For some, it may be one big pile of crap and for others, it may be a lot of little piles of crap. Either way, I want to help you clear that out so you can get to that better feeling place.
